If you are into hunting, bow fishing, or noodling you have probably heard of Hannah Barron. Hannah is a social media influencer famous for her catfish noodling videos on YouTube.

Here are all the things you should know about the Catfish Girl, Hannah.

Hannah Barron Early Life and Family

Hannah is the daughter of outdoorsman and YouTuber, Jeff Barron, and her mother is Amy Sherer. Even though her parents divorced when she was 8, Barron has a great relationship with both parents. Jeff is now married to Lisa Barron.

Ever since she could walk, her dad Jeff would take her outside. By the time she was 4 years old, she could identify all of the snakes in the local area. Her dad introduced her to hunting and fishing when she was little. She shot her first deer at the age of 8. She learned how to clean her first deer when she was 10.

Introduction to Noodling

She was introduced to noodling at the age of 15 by her neighbour, who was a local game warden.

He invited her and her dad to go when her dad was chopping wood for him. They thought it was going to be like using foam noodles on a fishing line like one would with milk jugs. After their first experience, they were hooked.

Hannah Barron loves the adrenaline that she gets from it. She does get hurt from their bites, but she says it is worth it. The biggest catfish she has caught weighed 67 pounds.

Many of the catfish she catches are almost as big as her.

The Noodling Process

Hannah will look for a natural catfish hole or a box that was placed for catfish to hide and lay their eggs.

She will then extend her arm with her hand in a fist for the catfish to bite. She will then reach as far back into their throats and grab what she can, and hook her other hand sliding next to the fish’s gill plate to its mouth.

Barron tries to be as careful as she can for her own safety and the catfish. If the catfish are healthy, she will release them.

Hannah Barron Education

In high school, Barron taught some of her fellow classmates how to weld. She graduated from Brantley High School in Brantley, Alabama, USA and attended Troy University in 2018.

Fitness

According to the influencer’s TikTok on 03-19-2020, Barron used to be skinny, unhealthy and had hip problems that bothered her every day.

She started working out, and now she feels better and her hips do not hurt anymore, and she enjoys working out.

Hannah’s Accidental Viral Video

Her dad bought this cheap camera that they put on a tripod to record Hannah noodling.

She posted it on Instagram, other people shared it on Facebook, and the video eventually garnered more than 20 million views.

It was huge because no one really knew what noodling was except the ones that watched “Hillbilly Handfishing”. This was something new, so she started creating more noodling content.

Later, she added hunting content, then videos of her cooking and doing construction.

The Catfish Girl started a YouTube channel, @HannahBarronOutdoors, on May 9, 2017, that now has 484k subscribers and 176 videos.
